1.0. INTRODUCTION
CMS Grammar School, Bariga is a unique brand in her own right. Historically, she occupies an exceptional position as the first Secondary institution in Nigeria. Since inception in June 1859, our school has been operating on a tripod of Spiritual, Academic and Moral Excellence leading to the total development of our students.
During the year under review, we strove to maintain the school’s age-long tradition of working under God to provide an inclusive world-class education that is aimed at developing our students’ skills, knowledge and character, providing opportunities for them to become confident leaders, role model and globally relevant.

2.0. ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE & SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT
On academic front, our school had maintained her position in the provision of quality education leading to higher grades in both internal and external examinations. For example, during the session under review, the school presented 140 candidates for WAEC’S SSCE and recorded 100% pass at credit level and above in all subjects.
This implies that all our students are qualified to sit for JAMB’S Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations and similar ones globally relevant. Similarly, this feat was recorded at the Junior School level for BECE at NECO and Lagos State Ministry of Education levels

3.0. SCHOOL PLANTS/LABORATORIES
Our school boasts of state-of-the-art laboratories for sciences and vocational subjects. Housed in a purpose-built 4-Storey block, our laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology are fully equipped with modern apparatus. Experiments are carried out in a computerised manner linked to projectors and screens. This enables the students and teachers record their activities for reviews at a later date.
The Vocational/Tec .Our students often acquire one or two vocational skills upon graduation from the school. Toward this end, the school facilitates a Career Simulation Scheme A.k.a. Industrial Training for our students to acquire a first-hand knowledge at industrial setting. The aim is to stimulate their interest in a particular profession later on in life.

4.0. ONLINE ENGAGEMENT
Our school is very visible online. We have an interactive website www.cmsgrammarschool.net and an exciting Facebook page “cms grammar school-bariga”.Our mode of engagement with all stakeholders are both offline and online via various WhatsApp platforms. This has made communication seamless and effective. We are also blessed with an e-Library and first-rate computer laboratory. This 2-in-1 teaching/learning facility has greatly enhanced research activities amongst staff and students for greater productivity. With the availability of the e-Library, students are given the opportunity to develop independent study habits and engage in self-knowledge discovery path of learning.

5.0. MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT
Our academic success story is predicated on the availability of quality teaching and learning facilities, highly qualified and motivated staff and purpose-driven School Management Team CMS is endowed with highly qualified Teaching Staff, majority of them being specialists in their own field. The school has equally invested in upgrading the teaching staff through sponsorship of teachers’ seminars and workshops on a regular basis. Besides, Teachers are also given the opportunities to further their education via Study Leave Scheme. These are to ensure that our teachers remain current and correct in their respective subjects.

6.0. MARKETING & SALES PROMOTION
CMS Grammar School is a strong brand, a school in a class of itself. However, concerted efforts are still made toward ensuring brand loyalty between our school and her growing publics. We engage in public relations activities that positively project the school to her numerous stakeholders. For example, we host crowd-pulling co-curricular activities, we publish newsmagazine and brochure yearly.

7.0. CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)
CMS Grammar School is a community. We value our immediate and the larger communities as our partners in progress. The Old Students of the school known as Old Grammarian Society (OGS) are a formidable
community making impact in the lives of the students and staff in diverse ways. We regularly connect with our communities via our robust Corporate Social Responsibility. At regular intervals, the School carries out community services in our neighbourhood, we visit community leaders for necessary bi-literal relations. Church Services are conducted for visiting parents and guardians on the last Sunday of every month.

8.0. CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Our School is a repository of laurels and awards as a result of our active participation in internal and external co-curricular activities. During the session under review (2018/2019), some the activities we participated in are
i) 2nd edition of Channels TV Field & Track Event held in November 2019
ii) TECH EDUHUB Artificial Intelligence Training session for Young minds held in UNILAG in October 2019
iii) Towunmi Coker Literary Initiative held on 15th November 2019
iv) LASMAB Bible Quiz held on 12th November 2019
v) Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) organised Quiz Session held on 18/10/19
In December 2019, our School Choir/Orchestral participated in
i. Lagos State Children’s Day Thanksgiving Service at The Chapel of Light, Alausa, Lagos
ii. An Evening of Pure Praise at Nigerian Army Barrack, Ikoyi, Lagos
iii. The Cantio Season 3 held at Church of Ascension, Opebi-Ikeja, Lagos
iv. CMS-OGS Thanksgiving Services at Christ Church Cathedral, Marina, Lagos.

2. 1st position in Longfort International School’s Quiz/Debate competition on 22/1/19.
3. 2nd position in Institute of Africa and Diaspora’s debate competition held in University of Lagos on 25/1/19.
4. Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers’ Civil Engineering Career Talk held in the school on 25/2/19
5. A play “A Flag to Follow” staged in the school on 6/3/19
6. LASMAB Debate held at ANCOHS Ipaja on 12/3/19

1. United Nation-sponsored Debate in honour of her birthday, held on 26/10/18 at FSTC Yaba
2. LASMAB Bible Quiz held on 13/11/18 in the school hall
3. Impact Leaders-sponsored Debate HELD ON 17/10/18 at Bariga LCDA, Bariga.
4. National Radiographers Institute, Yaba-sponsored Quiz Competition held on 12/11/18
5. Career Talk by Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers held on 6/12/18 in the school.
CMS Grammar School has all it takes to produce 360 Degree students that can hold their own in any given situation. This implies that we produce all-round students that are academically sound, spiritually deep and morally upright.
