IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: EXPANDING THE BULLYING PROJECT ACROSS AFRICA
Dear APCI Members,
Building on the success of the November 11-15, 2024 National Week of Action Against Bullying and Violence in Schools, we are thrilled to announce our pan-African initiative aimed at combating bullying and violence across educational institutions. This initiative, coordinated by the African Principals Conference Initiative (APCI), will be a continuous effort dedicated to creating safe and supportive environments for students throughout the continent.
ABR STUDENTS WELL-BEING AMBASSADORS
The ABR Students Well-being Ambassadors clubs in schools and colleges will take the lead in this vital initiative. We firmly believe that our students possess the potential to drive positive change, and these clubs will be instrumental in promoting kindness, empathy, and understanding in their communities.
PROJECT COORDINATION
To bolster our efforts, the APCI Board of Trustees will assign specific states in Nigeria and various African countries to award-winning APCI Fellows, who will function as project coordinators. This organized structure will ensure our initiative is coherent and impactful.
ACADEMIC SUPPORT MONTH
We are excited to declare January and February 2025 as Academic Support Month. During this period, student members of the ABR clubs will focus on demonstrating kindness and will act as peer-to-peer support groups, thereby enhancing learning outcomes within their schools. We urge all coordinators to collaborate closely with the APCI head office for ongoing updates and support for their activities.
CALL FOR AN ANTI-BULLYING ANTHEM
In our pursuit of fostering a nurturing school culture, we invite you to contribute to the creation of an uplifting anti-bullying anthem that can be embraced by all participating schools. Please submit your creative entries by mid-December 2024.
All contributions and suggestions should be sent to [email protected]. Your involvement is crucial in ensuring the success of this important initiative!
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to standing against bullying and violence in our educational spaces.
Best Regards,
Joseph AYODELE
