SUPPORT THE 2ND NATIONAL WEEK OF ACTION AGAINST BULLYING AND VIOLENCE IN SCHOOLS

November 10-14, 2025 | Campaign Goal: ₦500 Million

The Silent Crisis: Bullying in Nigeria

Nigeria is grappling with a silent, yet devastating crisis: bullying and violence in our schools. We've all witnessed heartbreaking tragedies that underscore the urgent need for action. From the recent suicide of a student on June 2, 2025, at the Nigerian Law School (Port Harcourt campus), to the devastating December 2021 loss of Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-year-old from a leading Lagos school, and even the tragic case of the late artist Mohbad on September 12, 2023, bullying is deeply embedded in every segment of our society. It's not just affecting individuals; it's casting a dark shadow over our institutions and threatening the well-being of our youth. It's time we act decisively to protect our children and shape a kinder future.

Catch Them Young: Our Solution

The African Principals Conference Initiative (APCI) NGO, in technical partnership with the Federal Ministry of Education, is proud to launch the 2nd National Week of Action against Bullying and Violence in Schools. Building on the success of our first edition, we believe the key to taming this menace is to "catch our students young."

Our approach focuses on three critical pillars:

  • Promoting Random Acts of Kindness: Through engaging drama series, students will discover the profound impact of small, selfless gestures and how kindness can be a powerful antidote to negativity.
  • Understanding Attachment Styles: We will facilitate impactful debates and discussions on attachment styles, illuminating the crucial connection between these foundational relationships and bullying behaviors. Just as we raise awareness for SS genotype for stress-free childbearing, we must empower students with an in-depth understanding of how attachment styles influence interactions and how this knowledge can prevent bullying.
  • Empowering Through Education: We will conduct talk shows in schools, distribute vital anti-bullying packages, and establish ABR Students' Well-being Ambassadors Clubs to create a sustainable network of peer support and awareness.

Why We Need Your Support

The APCI NGO cannot tackle this monumental task alone. While the Federal Ministry of Education is our invaluable technical partner, we urgently need your financial support for several key areas:

  1. Awareness Creation (₦100 Million): Spreading our message far and wide to encourage maximum participation and foster a societal shift towards kindness.
  2. Debate & Drama Rewards (₦50 Million): Organizing and rewarding top performers in the 2025 National anti-bullying week debate and drama competitions, exploring how understanding attachment styles can enhance bullying prevention efforts in schools.
  3. Direct School Engagement (₦300 Million): Funding talk shows in schools for the distribution of anti-bullying packages (including our Bullying Prevention & Policy Handbook) and the vital establishment of ABR Students' Well-being Ambassadors Clubs.
  4. Crucial Impact Tracking (₦50 Million): Most importantly, we need your support to track the success of our initiatives. In 2023, we conducted Nigeria's first-ever baseline studies for monitoring student well-being and bullying. (Report available at https://africatopschools.com/posts/2023-well-being-and-bullying-tracking-study-in-nigeria). Your donations will enable us to conduct the vital March 2026 tracking study, allowing us to measure the impact of our programs and refine our strategies for lasting change.

How You Can Help

Your support matters. Let's make a difference!

  • Sponsor Special Awards: Fund awards for the debate or drama competitions.
  • Fund Awareness Packages: Provide anti-bullying packages for free distribution to students in specific states, local governments, towns, leading schools, or even your very own alma mater.
  • Share This Campaign: Spread the word on social media, with your friends, family, and networks. The more people who know, the more impact we can make.
